March 2026: Join us in Oregon Wine Country for RAIZ
The RAIZ Experience: March 14th, 2026
A one-day retreat for Latinas to reconnect, remember, and rise together
Lately, the world has felt especially heavy.
So many of us are shouldering fear, grief, anger, exhaustion, and a profound uncertainty. The weight can be overwhelming, leaving us feeling isolated and powerless. In times like these, it is natural to want to retreat just to make it through.
RAÍZ was born as an invitation to choose a different path.
We invite you into a space designed for you to pause and breathe.
A place where you can finally exhale.
A space to come home to yourself and remember you are not alone.
As co-authors of The Book of Awesome Latinas, a book centered on women who made history regardless of what stood in their way, we refuse to believe that our stories no longer matter. We believe the opposite. We believe that stories — when given space, safety, and intention — can change lives. They can ground us. They can remind us who we are. And they can help us imagine what comes next.
RAÍZ is about rediscovering your power, especially when it feels out of reach.
It is about choosing community, even when isolation seems simpler.
It is about embracing rest, creativity, and reflection as powerful acts of resistance.
And above all, it is about finding a way forward, together.
What to Expect
RAÍZ is a full-day in-person gathering (11AM to 7PM) crafted to gently guide you out of your thoughts and back into your body, your story, and your community.
Picture this:
Imagine arriving at a beautiful, Latina-owned ranchito in the heart of wine country. Rolling hills stretch before you, open skies invite you to breathe, and quiet settles around you. The land itself seems to hold you, and from the first moment, time begins to slow.
Our day begins with a grounding somatic experience, guided by a skilled yoga and somatics facilitator. This is not about performance or flexibility; it is about soothing your nervous system, reconnecting with your body, and building a shared foundation for the day to come.
From there, the day unfolds through a blend of:
Guided reflection and conversation
Storytelling and writing prompts inspired by The Book of Awesome Latinas
Gentle creative practices
Community dialogue and shared wisdom
Nourishing food, snacks, and beverages to keep us grounded and supported
You will find space to rest.
There will be room for your voice.
There will be space to truly listen.
There will be space to imagine what resistance, healing, and leadership can mean for you, right here and now.
You do not need to arrive with answers. You do not need to call yourself a writer or an activist. Simply come as you are.
